ABSTRACT

The aim at this study is to detect laser beams reflected from a surface by using image processing techniques. Image processing has found application and development areas in many sectors such as photography industry, robotic applications, food industry, defense industry, weather observation and forecasting applications and medicine [2]. In recent years, the developments in the sectors mentioned has brought the development of image processing techniques over thanks to factors such as the increase in the number of data to be processed. Developments in image processing techniques; machine learning, deep learning and artificial neural networks, such as side areas have also required to be included in image processing. Applications such as face recognition algorithms and autonomous cars are some examples of machine learning assisted image processing techniques. Object tracking applications, which is a very important issue in the military field, are strengthened by artificial intelligence applications [1]. In the scope of this study; various morphological processes, object detection and tracking methods have been tried in order to detect the laser beams reflected from the target. As a result of the tests, the most suitable methods for detection were determined and explained in detail. This study was tested on a target tracking system by detecting laser beams reflected from a moving target. In the test system; There are three units: a marking unit that marks the target with a laser beam, a seeker unit that follows the target marked with a laser beam, and a sensor unit that detects the laser beams reflected from the target with image processing algorithms.

ÖZ

Bu çalışmada bir yüzeyden yansıyan lazer ışınlarının görüntü işleme tekniklerinden yararlanarak tespit edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Görüntü işleme; fotoğraf endüstrisi, robotik uygulamalar, gıda endüstrisi, savunma sanayi, hava gözlem ve tahmin uygulamaları ve tıp alanı gibi pek çok sektörde kendine uygulama ve gelişme alanı bulmuştur [2]. Son dönemlerde belirtilen sektörlerdeki gelişmeler, işlenecek verilerin sayısındaki artış gibi faktörler sayesinde görüntü işleme tekniklerinin de gelişmesini beraberinde getirmiştir. Görüntü işleme tekniklerindeki gelişmeler; makine öğrenmesi, derin öğrenme ve yapay sinir ağları gibi yan alanların da görüntü işleme işlemlerine dahil edilmesini gerekli kılmıştır. Yüz tanıma algoritmaları, sürücüsüz araçlar gibi uygulamalar makine öğrenmesi destekli görüntü işleme tekniklerine verilebilecek bazı örneklerdendir. Askeri alanda çok önemli bir konu olan nesne takibi uygulamaları ise yapay zekâ uygulamaları ile güçlendirilmektedir [1]. Bu çalışma kapsamında; hedeften yansıyan lazer ışınlarının tespit edilmesi amacıyla çeşitli morfolojik işlemler, nesne tespit ve takip yöntemleri denenmiştir. Denemelerin sonucunda tespit için en uygun yöntemler belirlenmiş ve detayları ile aktarılmıştır. Bu çalışma, hareketli bir hedeften yansıyan lazer ışınlarını tespit ederek hedef takibi yapan sistem üzerinde test edilmiştir. Test sisteminde; hedefi lazer ışını ile işaretleyen bir işaretleme birimi, lazer ışını ile işaretlenmiş hedefi takip eden arayıcı birimi ve hedeften yansıyan lazer ışınlarını görüntü işleme algoritmaları ile algılayan algılayıcı birim olmak üç birim bulunmaktadır.
